They just know don’t they 🥹 They know when yo They just know don’t they 🥹
They know when you’re sick, when you’re happy, when you’re sad, when you’re energised, when you’re resting.
What would we do without them 💛
What not to say to someone who is struggling... 1. What not to say to someone who is struggling...
1. “It could be worse!” *it could also be a lot better*
2. “At least it’s not cancer” *my experiences are still valid* 🌈
3. “You just need to try yoga/meditation” *I don’t need you to fixed me*
4. “Just think positively!” *this is unrealistic and unhealthy* 🙅🏽‍♀️
5. “You are in charge of your emotions.” *then no one would be sad*
6. “I don’t know how you get through it all” *I don’t have a choice* 🧡
7. “Just focus on the good things in life” *i can’t heal from my pain if i ignore it*
8. “My someone who had that, they just did…” *please don’t give unsolicited advice*
9. “Everything happens for a reason. *this isn’t a universal belief*

If you can’t believe in getting through this mom If you can’t believe in getting through this moment, then believe in your own strength in getting through this moment 🧘🏽‍♀️🌬️✨
The ongoing stages of grief with chronic illness…

the grief of losing the hobbies, passions and life you had
the grief of losing your health, your freedom, your ability to choose
the grief of losing your independence, your job, your ability to work or study or earn a living
the grief of losing the ability to plan your future 🌪
the grief of never knowing what it’s like to go on unplanned adventures, to be spontaneous 💭
the grief of your body’s constant limitations
the grief of losing the small progress you made through the inevitable roller-coaster of recovery
the grief of never having a break from your illness 🌙
the grief of carrying all the years you’ve been sick on your shoulders

Here with you, through it all, as always, E 🦋 xx
My illness impacts everything I do, so it can be h My illness impacts everything I do, so it can be hard not to talk about it when it’s so present in my life 🤍
I hope you’re proud of all the times you rested I hope you’re proud of all the times you rested even though you didn’t want to.
I hope you’re proud of all the times you said no.
I hope you’re proud of all the times you did what was right for you.
I hope you’re proud of all the times you stopped instead of pushing through.
I hope you’re proud of all the times you put yourself first.
I hope you’re proud of all the times you recognised your limits.
I hope you’re proud of all the times you honoured your limits.
I hope you’re proud of all the times you went at your own pace.
I hope you’re proud of all the times you realised your best is, and always will be, enough.
