Today marks 1 year of being predominately housebound due to M.E.. Instead of feeling sad about it, today I’m celebrating the fact I’ve learnt and grown more in this past year than in my 20 years previously. Here’s a little summary of the main things I’ve learnt these past 365 days:
– True friends will always be there for you when you’re well enough to see them
– Nothing is ever permanent
– Books mean the world to someone who is cooped up and they can provide a connection deeper than most people can possibly understand 📚
– Dogs are the perfect companions for people who are sick
– Being alone with your thoughts is the best way to heal your mind
– Acceptance is key
– Meditation and mindfulness can do absolute wonders 🧘🏽♀️
– You already have everything you need
– Never take anything or anyone for granted in life as you never know what will happen in the future
– You know your body better than anyone
– Listen to your gut
– Small acts of kindness can make someone’s day ♥️
– Never judge someone before you know their story
– You can’t run away from your problems forever so you may as well face them
– Help can only be given to those who want it
– Being alone doesn’t necessarily mean you’re lonely
– Patience is crucial for recovery
– Grow and learn with the situations life throws at you
– Happiness can truly be found in the darkest of times ✨
