You say, I have not seen the world. I say, I have You say,
I have not seen the world.
I say,
I have seen the depths of the world within myself.

You say,
I have not lived.
I say,
I have already lived a hundred lives.

You say,
I have not seen beauty.
I say,
I have watched a thousand sunsets.

You say,
I have so much more to gain.
I say,
I have everything I need.

You say,
I have a life waiting for me.
I say,
I have my life right here ✨

How you start this year does not dictate the tone How you start this year does not dictate the tone for how the rest of your year will then be.
I started 2020 off unable to leave my bed, wash my hair, hold a conversation, or walk further than to the bathroom and back.
I ended 2020 spending hours with my friends and family talking, going to Enchanted Christmases and light shows, eating meals downstairs at the kitchen table, joining in with the festivities, on top of plugging away with my writing and going for short walks nearly every day. 🍃
My point is, no matter how you start this year, there is still SO much room for improvement.
There is so much time for things to change, and for things to change drastically.
Maybe this is your year, or maybe it isn’t.
Either way, it’s going to be someone’s year, and maybe this year that someone could be you.
So don’t write the rest of the year off as a “bad one” just because January didn’t start off as you envisioned.
There are still 11 more months to come, and so much can happen in that time. 💫🌏
So much fear surrounds my heart as I seem to be st So much fear
surrounds my heart
as I seem to be stumbling
through the wilderness
more than ever.
So many possibilities opening up
but everything so blank
at the same time.
The emptiness is exciting
as it is terrifying.
I know it’ll be scary,
I know it’ll be hard,
but I also know in so many ways
it can’t be half as hard
as what I’m leaving behind.
I don’t know where I’m going,
I don’t know what I’m doing,
but I’m just grateful
to finally be able
to look forward.

Living.
Not just surviving.
And while living is so damn hard.
I will do it.
I will do it for the person I left behind.
I will do it for myself because I have to.
Those years weren’t for nothing.
They were for this.
And now I have to keep going.
Where?
I don’t know.
Will it be scary?
It’ll be terrifying.
But I have to do it.
I have to know where this road goes
and the never-ending journey
I’m being taken on.
I have to keep moving forward,
for me.
Despite the fear,
I have to keep going.

Saying someone can’t be sad because someone else Saying someone can’t be sad because someone else might have it worse, is like saying someone can’t be happy because someone else might have it better. 💛

(One of my favourites quotes spoken by an unknown person) xx
One day, these days will seem like a faraway dream One day,
these days will seem like a faraway dream.
You’ll think,
did I really have so little energy I couldn’t sit in a chair,
see my friends or family,
or leave the house for years?
It will all seem like a blur,
and it will feel like a different lifetime.
Because one day you will be in a place so far from where you are now.
You will be travelling the world,
walking whenever and wherever you want,
spending time with the people you love,
living life to the full.
But something you will never ever forget,
is what these days taught you.
You will never forget the lessons you learnt.
You will never forget how you overcame the struggles.
You will never forget how you grew despite the circumstances.
You will never forget how you conquered the world each day simply by getting through it.
You will hold this in your heart for always.
And you will look back and realise,
these days weren’t the end,
they weren’t a waste of time,
because really, they were just the beginning,
of a journey so so beautiful you won’t see it coming.
And for that you will always be grateful
that these days happened to you.

Starting the year with one of my favourite quotes Starting the year with one of my favourite quotes by The Dalai Lama.
Some things I’m trying to remember this New Year:
- We can achieve far more in a year than we can in a month. And further still, we can achieve far more in two years than we can in just one. The point is, we don’t have to try and do everything we want to in this month: some things are meant to take more time to evolve. 🌱
- Our self-worth is not measured by our productivity. And rest is also productive, as is self-care.
- We mustn’t try and attempt to solve our entire life in one instance. Life unfolds only in moments, so it’s much better just to focus our energy on one moment at a time. And anyway, the future is not in our control and does not exist - all that exists is this moment. 🧘🏽‍♀️
- We often believe the most important moment is still to come, yet now is the only important moment.
- No amount of worry can or will influence the future.
- We are at our most productive when we are fully present.
- Happiness and inner-peace are only found here, in the present moment.
- And finally… We are only alive in this moment. If we live our life constantly planning for the future, we will miss out on all the moments that are taking place right now. So this moment is the best time to live. 💙
